2015 Wrap-Up and 2016 Preview Part 3 - 2016 Debuts I'm Excited About + Giveaway

Today marks the start of a new year and with it the start of a brand new batch of books!  My goal this year, with all of the things I'm hoping to achieve, will again be to read 52 books (and to actually review ALL 52 of them).  There are so many books I'm looking forward to reading this year that I couldn't choose just 10, so instead I chose 20 books that fit into one of two categories, 2016 debuts and 2016 releases by authors who have published at least one book.  That's 10 books in each category, and along with each book I'll add a little bit of why I want to read the book, along with the release date, so you too can get excited about all of these books!

Seeing as today is the first day of 2016 I thought I'd start off with the 2016 debuts so here, in order of when they will (tentatively) be released, are 10 debuts I can't wait to read!

1. Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto
This book has cannibals in it, so I'm automatically reading it. End of story.
Scheduled to be released February 2, 2016

2. The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
TIME TRAVEL YOU GUYS! This book has time travel! Also the time travel is done on a ship, which is also so cool!
Scheduled to be released February 16, 2016

3. After the Woods by Kim Savage
This is a mystery/thriller and it just sounds super cool. Also, LOOK AT THAT COVER!
Scheduled to be released February 23, 2016

4. Kill the Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky
This book is described as being "darkly comical". It's about a group of girls who accidentally kidnaps their least favorite member of a boy band. That just sounds like so much fun to me! idk.
Scheduled to be released February 23, 2016

5. Into the Dim by Janet B. Taylor
MORE TIME TRAVEL!  This just seems to be the year for time-travel debuts. Also, this is supposed to be Outlander for YA, and despite never reading said book, I've heard fantastic things about it!
Scheduled to be released March 1, 2016

6. A Fierce and Subtle Poison by Samantha Mabry
Magical realism blurbed by Nova Ren Suma? Uhh, yes please.
Scheduled to be released April 12, 2016

7. Everland by Wendy Spinale
This sounds to me like a dystopian Peter Pan, which sounds like the coolest idea EVER. I also love a good plague.
Scheduled to be released April 26, 2016

8. The May Queen Murders by Sarah Jude
I seem to have a thing for books about small towns with murderous hidden secrets, so this is right up my alley.
Scheduled to be released May 3, 2016

9. The Killer in Me by Margot Harrison
This is a psychological thriller about a girl who appears to be the only one who is onto a serial killer, and based on the title it's gonna get CRAZY!
Scheduled to be released July 12, 2016

10. Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill
There's just something about a fantasy book where a girl is on the run and has to track down her former love interest and kill him that gets me excited.
Scheduled to be released December 27, 2016

So there you have it, 10 YA debuts I'm looking forward to this year.  There are SO many more that I didn't include (a few of which don't actually have a cover yet) but a list that long might get a little boring.  So tell me, what 2016 debuts are YOU looking forward to?

Don't forget to check out the giveaways below!

Giveaway #1:
I have a whole bunch of book and book-related things to give away and I decided the best time to do so would be during the holiday season! Unfortunately Christmas (and Hanukkah and every other holiday out there) has come and gone, so what better time to give it away than while I'm celebrating all the fantastic books out this year and the ones I'm looking forward to next year?  I'm pretty sure there is no better time.  But you're probably wondering what you can win, so here's a little list;

Your choice of one of my favorite 2015 reads

Your choice of one of the books I didn't get to in 2015

A pre-order of your choice of one of my 2016 picks OR a $20 gift card to the bookstore of your choice (or Amazon)

Your choice of two 2016 ARCs
Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace
Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan

A copy of Secret Garden by Johanna Basford

Your choice of three of the following movies made from books
- The Hunger Games
- Catching Fire
- Mockingjay Part 1
- Divergent
- The Fault in our Stars
- The DUFF
- The Maze Runner
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower

A bunch of swag from various authors/books

A handmade book pendant of your design

A $15 Starbucks giftcard

A pair of fuzzy socks to read in

A set of my favorite chocolates from around the holiday season (I've been told they're exclusive to the area I live in)

That's upward of $200 of book-ish things, and goodness knows I'll probably end up tossing a few other things in there as well, so that's a HUGE prize!  This one is US/Canada only, just because shipping will be so expensive outside of the US, although if you live outside the US and have family or a friends who would mail the prize to you feel free to enter.  All you have to do is enter using the rafflecopter below.

As far as books that I wish I had gotten into during 2015, it definitely would have been Illumnae. I just never got around to reading it!
The book by a veteran author that I'm most excited for is Throne of Glass #5, because everything Ms. Maas writes is gold!!

  20. Definitely Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto because I am a huge fan of the cannibalism aspect! Which is bad, and yet, I am utterly drawn in!
